New adventures in Cherven
While the memories are still fresh and emotions burn the hearts, we’d like to tell you about our new Burren Chernobyl Project volunteers, who came last week to Cherven children’s orphanage. 6 young ladies from all over Ireland came to spend some time with the children. Alyson, Tay, Marie, Kellie, Orlagh and Sarah brought all their love to almost 300 the boys and girls! They had only one week, but they managed to see all the 11 units, and meet everyone. It is not easy, and it doesn’t matter if it is the first time, or second, or third. It is very emotional, overwhelming, but yet every moment is precious. The girls brought so much love, which was returned at least double. Of course it is much easier to dive into the orphanage’s life and become friends with our special kids, when you have some experience in such a sphere. And the ladies, being nurses by profession, have fantastic skills, and their working experience helped them to settle really well.
Games, dancing, colouring, make up, tea parties all their days were full of joy and happiness. Some moments were sad. Sad, because these children deserved to be loved and cared for. And the girls were happy to do both for them. We thank them very much, and hope that they will keep these memories in their hearts until they come back again!
