They only cost one ruble each but

each of the little flowers placed on the

little graves in the Children’s Plot

in the graveyard outside Cherven

represents the brightness and colour

each child brought to the world

and to the lives of all who knew them

for a little while or for longer.

For some it was not an easy time in this world,

for most it was a short time.

We were lucky enough to get to meet them

and hopefully to bring a little comfort to their

lives as they brought joy to ours for the time

they had to abide with us.
