Two places are a good idea!
Visiting Belarus will certainly leave its mark on you. Especially if you come to volunteer in the orphanages. Some people fall in love with the place and the people for good and keep coming back as regularly as they can afford. The make friends, make difference, give love and provide invaluable help to the children and young adults in the institutions and the families.
For some it is an inseparable part of their lives and they can’t picture their existence without our children. Those people become our friends, our family, and we are always very happy to welcome them back and be there for them during their stay. Not many volunteers can go to both Cherven and Gorodische, but we have a few regular BCP volunteers who keep coming almost every year to both orphanages. And this is truly amazing!
This May Maria, Deirbhile ,John Paul and Michael came over to spend to weeks first in Gorodische orphanage and then Cherven.
Lots of fun and a busy schedule made everyone happy! The photos below add to the memories!!!
Some happy reunions, visits to the cinema and a pizza place, adult asylums to catch up with those who moved made the time fly so fast.
We say many thanks to our amazing Burren Chernobyl Project volunteers for all their help and look forward to the next summer with them!
