The warmth of October
This autumn never stops surprising us with good weather and lots of news.
Our lovely Irish volunteers keep sharing their love with the children in Belarusian orphanages and making things happen.
Gorodische orphanage is always full of volunteers, the kids never feel lonely or bored. The entertainment is never-ending. Starting from the 18th of October a group of young ladies Ailish Hinchion, Kate Condon, Laura Dwane, Claire Shinkwin, Niamh Cleary and Sarah Hinchion were having a great time with the children and young adults, organizing events, games and various activities.
Another group that arrived on the 25th – a dedicated couple Joanne and Don O’Sullivan, as well as Lisa Gallagher and Bridget Kearns who came on her first trip, followed them.
Cherven welcomes heir Irish friends rarely but surely now. Dean Ladrigan is one of the regular visitors, who became a true family for many children. This time he came over almost for two weeks and was joined later by Alma Geraghty, who first came this year in April, but couldn’t wait too long to see her new friends and decided to come back with Dean in October.
What a fantastic time they all had: discoes, trips to the local pizzeria, an outing to Minsk zoo, tea parties in the evening, and what not!
The hardest part is to say good-bye, but those good byes are not forever and we hope to see them back again soon! Many thanks to everyone for their time and love and friendship!!!!
In the meanwhile, we have received another truck from Ireland and are waiting for the documents to go through to start delivering aid to the institutions.
Stay tuned for more news!
Yours truly
Dobra tut
