Magic reunions of 2022
It has been a relatively quiet year in regard to visits of our irish volunteers.
But the starting point was, when Ruth Byrne came over in summer time for her short trip to Cherven first and then to Gorodische.
That inspired our Irish volunteers to do the same. And this November we were extremely happy to reunite with one of our good old friends – Sean Hegarty, who is known to many of you as the person who dramatically increases the quality of life of children and young adults not only in the institutions but also in families.
Sean came for 10 days and spent them mainly in Cherven orphanage, repairing some of the wheelchairs, making new seats, and fixing some of the broken parts. He has also made some trips to the community, where he visited 4 families to revise the chairs that the children and adults are using in their everyday life.
To say that the comeback was emotional is to say nothing.
It has been 3 long years, since we last saw each other, so where did the time go?
Anyway, the plans to return to Belarus are being put together for the next year and we can’t wait to see our friend again!!!
Thanks a million, dear Sean, for everything you do for the children!
Looking forward to your next visit!
