Summer brings new friends
We are very delighted that this year Cherven children’s orphanage is getting more volunteers from Ireland. This June brought to the children and young adults that reside in the institution 2 new friends from Sligo – Aisling and Aoife Molloy. The two sisters took their time of their regular life to dive into a totally different country, culture, thinking, way of life, and we hope they have no regrets about it.
During the week the volunteers have a chance to meet most of the 300 kids and young adults, organize a trip to the cinema and disco, an outing for the older lads to the lake, sessions in the sensory room with Unit 5 kids, and of course, they devoted most of their time to the bed bound children in Units 1 and 6.
We are sure that all of our volunteers can say that one week is never enough, but it has its amazing effect on the children and on volunteers likewise. We are saying thank you so much for your time, love and genuine care for the children, as we hope that this friendship will last a good while!!!
As always more photos are in the album under the story!
